I'm doing the motor city triathlon and am concerned about the water temps. I've only done triathlons on the Gulf coast, this is my first time up north. I hate cold water in the first place, but I'm afraid the river will be frigid.

I'm lining up a QR full wetsuit from a buddy, but am still concerned. Do I need a cap or gloves or anything else?

What races is everyone doing this season? It would be great to get a bunch of people together at the same events. I know there are a bunch of us with Detroit Iron doing either Big Fish or Steelhead half ironmans and IM Wisconsin.

Any one ever do the Motor City mile(1 mile and 5 k swim) at Belle Isle, July 7th?

I was wondering how many people attend, and how the event is run.

Although it is in the middle of the week, it would be a good strong current swim test before my Summer season kick's off.

Did you see the email they sent out about doing 2 day Ironman and half ironman races? Sort of a strange format. You do the swim and bike on one day and the run on another? Couldnt they secure the permits to just do the whole thing in one day?
