Piedmontese Beef - The New Chicken

For those of you in the Metro-Detroit area that haven't heard of Piedmontese Beef, why haven't you been to Red Coat???!!? This great tavern on Woodward in Royal Oak not only introduced me to the Piedmontese hamburger but it also has great beer.

Beef? Hamburgers? Have I gone crazy and fallen off the nutrition bandwagon? Well, maybe... but it's not because of Piedmontese beef!

Per piedmontese.org, Piedmontese beef was:
Evolved in the Alps Mountains of ...

Ironman Cozumel 2009

My Second Ironman Race – November 29, 2009 Cozumel, Mexico

The days leading up to an Ironman can be stressful. Adding international travel and foreign language to the mix adds to the anxiety. I was more nervous about this race than my first Ironman. However, once my bike was back in my possession after our several flights and layovers, I felt some weight lifted off my shoulders. We arrived in Cozumel on Thursday to wind ...

Bike For Sale

Hi.

This is not something I usually do, but Jared suggested I post this here. A friend of mine died suddenly last month, leaving two children in university and one in high school, and a widow a bit short of cash. Last summer he bought a Trek 7500 Hybrid bicycle. He never rode it. It has a bike computer which shows 3.2 miles on it. His widow asked me to try to sell it for ...

St. Anthony's Triathlon 2010

I know there are a few of us that will be doing St. Anthony's Triathlon on April 25, 2010. I know some that are doing it with Team In Training, and some that are training on their own. Either way, it is always good to have someone to train with.

Reply to this post if you are planning on participating in the event and we'll see if we can all get together sometime!

Yur Buds - iPod Earphone Molds

Did anyone notice or go to the Yur Buds booth at the Detroit Free Press expo last month? They are customized soft silicone ear molds that attach to your ipod ear phones so they won't fall out. I don't know about you, but I have gone through MANY a dollar and MANY a product looking for something that is comfortable and will stay in place. Especially while working out! I stopped at the booth to ...

Headsweats Visor/Hat Review

Let me set the stage for this review. I am a runner and a triathlete that sweats more than anyone I know. I have consistently had issues with sweat getting into my eyes and stinging them and I have tried many different solutions including running with a towel, using my shirt to wipe the sweat out of my eyes, using the bandanna-ish type solutions, and just manning up and taking the stinging in my eyes ...

Cyclists Form Biker Gangs to Combat Motorists

That title may be a tad too heavily worded but in this article, South Florida cycling groups band together to end confrontations with motorists, you'll see that cyclists are working together to end violent confrontations. Sort of like a really nice biker gang... ;)

Cycling groups are on a mission to end confrontations with motorists.

They're policing their own ranks. Leaders in group rides are making sure ...

Has anyone used the lab at Fraser Bicycle

I was thinking about checking this out, but wanted to know if anyone else on here uses Fraser's lab http://fraserbicycle.com/articles/watta ... -pg180.htm and how their experience went? Did you go there on your own or did you use one of the "coaches"?
