I see on the event calendar that the group swims at Hammond Lake on Fridays at 6 pm. Is this still active? If so - can someone give me the details as to specifically where it is? I'd like to give it a try the next two Fridays and at the same time learn more about joining the group.

I live in the Wixom area and have yet to find a public lap pool that I can swim at relatively cheaply. I know I could spend big bucks to join lifetime fitness but I already have a gym membership that I won for free, it just doesn't have a pool.

The high school pools I have found in this area seem to have 1 hour of lap swim available each night, so it isn't ...

I'm training for Ironman Cozumel, which takes place in warm and sunny Mexico on November 29, 2009. As such, I am still doing long rides and runs ... while others are sleeping in, recovering from the Michigan tri season, and staying indoors. I'm planning to do my 20 mile run this Saturday Oct 10 at 8:30am at Kensington if anyone is looking to run. I'd love to have some company for any of those miles. I'll be back to my car a few times if you just wanted to run one loop or whatever.

I'm doing track workouts at Royal Oak High School (formerly Kimball) on Tuesday nights at 6:30pm if anyone is interested. ROHS is off Crooks Rd just north of 13 mile, and the track is northeast behind the school -- closest parking lot entrance is off of Normandy (13 and a half mile).

I'll do a mile or so warmup, then 3-4 miles of intervals on the track and then cool down.

I live in Livonia and would love to find a "clean" local lake in which to swim. I typically swim at Trout Lake at Island Lake Recreation Area or at Hammond Lake in W. Bloomfield, but neither are very close.

Anyone have any suggestions on where to OWS in and around Livonia/Northville?

What's your favorite place to train in Metro-Detroit? I'm a pretty big fan of Kensington metro park for training. I like the hills, easy place to park, and that there's a lot of people that train out there. I also like that it's easy to leave the park for long rides that still have some hills.

Does anyone know any good routs through Detroit? I'm scheduled to ride 30 miles on Thursday and would like to ride after work in Detroit if I can come up with a good route. Are there any good training routes though the city?
