Eva's Introduction

Postby eva » Mon Apr 12, 2010 7:54 am

What is your name?
Eva Solomon

What brings you to Detroit Triathlon?
Just clicking around and stumbled upon the site- after spending time on ST and BT, I love the idea of networking with local tri friends.

How long have you been doing triathlons or are you just starting?
I've been doing tris for about 13 years.

How did you get started?
I started swimming because of a running injury- when I started running again I didn't want to give up the swimming- so I entered my first tri in Allentown, PA.

What was your last race and what's your A race for this year?
My last race was the Olympic Tri in the Maccabiah Games in Israel last July- my A race this year is in three weeks on May 1- Wildflower half iron in CA.

What's your best/favorite triathlon leg?
The run!

What's your worst triathlon leg?
Swim and Bike are tied- but I probably have more room for improvement on the bike.

Where do you do most of your trainings?
Mostly in the Ann Arbor area- bike out toward Chelsea/Waterloo- run in Ann Arbor- swim in Saline

What would you like to find/see/do/explore this season?
More time on the bike

What do you like to do when you're not training for triathlons?
I'm organizing triathlons!

Tell us a good triathlon story:
Last year I left teaching after 20 years and I started a multi sport management company. We put on two stellar races and are adding a third- a 5 K point to point open water swim this year. My favorite part of this job is seeing first timers achieve goals they think is beyond their reach.

Anything else?
Looking forward to chatting, sharing, networking, and maybe even seeing some of you out on the road!

Eva, great to meet you! I'm going to transform this site into a social networking Detroit triathlon website as well as keeping the forums. It should be great for meeting local triathletes.

Good luck at Wildflower! I did the race a couple of years ago and wasn't quite in the shape I needed to be for it. It's a challenging course but one of the coolest venues and triathlon scenes you could find. You'll have a great time.

Say hello to the "Big Nasty" on the bike course for me...
