Tonya's intro

Hey, I'm Tonya... aka "tz". I was way out of the exercise loop for a few years due to a rigorous school schedule, but now that I'm back to "just working" I have time (and a little bit of money) to start training again! I have completed three tri's so far... The Kings Trail in Maui (my first and fav so far! - Olympic distance); Inter-Rockin sprint in Interlochen, MI; and the Waterloo, MI Tri... I think that was a sprint too... I attempted a 1/2 Ironman in Florida, but didn't get past the first mile of the run... After 5 hours in the saddle I was done !!!

I am a Registered Dental Hygienist working in Farmington Hills and I live in Dearborn with my German Shorthaired Pointer, Otter, and my sister, Lydia.

I need help with motivation.... it has always been my issue with training.... And biking, I'm not really a fan of the bike...

I guess that's it, if there is anything else y'all need to know, just tell me !!!

tz, it's great to have you on the forums! There's a lot of knowledge here even if some people are taking a break from the forums for the Winter...

You will find a lot of great group trainings with people on these forums and if you're anything like me, that will help you to keep motivated. Also, check out Detroit Iron Triathlon for a triathlon group in the metro-area that has even more group trainings. Right now we have swim training through the Winter.

Have you ridden much with other people? When I first started I found that I liked the bike a lot more after I started riding with other people in group rides.
