Hey everyone! My name is Courtney Roschek. I am getting excited about the Detroit Iron recruiting meeting next week (and for IM-WISCO 10) so, I thought I would channel my energy here.
My triath-addiction began in 2004 the summer before I started law school on an eliptical at the Michigan Athletic Club in East Lansing Michigan. Yes, an eliptical. I was "getting in shape" for law school (read: ha!) and simulataneously watching the entire Sopranos series on DVD. Every day this friendly older, sleep deprived, christopher llyod looking, emergency room doctor named Doug would come by my eliptical and the following conversation would ensue:
D: "Hi Courtney"
Me: "Hi Doug"
D: "Wanna go for a run with me?"
Me: "Nope!"
D: "Ok, see ya later"
I stopped saying "Nope!" after about 3 months of this conversation (and when i was through the Sopranos). In the Fall of 2004 I ran my first 3 miles, followed shortly thereafter by my first marathon. It changed my life, and my eliptical usage.
Burnt out on running, I started tri-ing in 2008 when, after moving to the Detroit area by my lonesome, I decided to get involved with the local Team in Training Chapter....after great experiences marathoning with TNT in Lansing. I love my TNT peeps and would encourage anyone to get involved!

Detroit FREEP (Marathon)/Chicago (triathlon)...A race for this year: IM WISCO

the run.
What's your worst triathlon leg?
the bike.

royal oak, kensington, and stoney creek (read: i get around a bit).

i want to learn how to kill it on the bike. i'd also like to get into adventure racing if anyone is
interested.
What do you like to do when you're not training for triathlons?
when i'm not training, I can often be found at local Royal Oak watering holes, hanging with my
girl friends, raising money for the best non-profit around (TNT), or teaching trial advocacy to
mock trial students at Michigan State University College of Law (go green!).
