Postby nregner » Thu Nov 19, 2009 2:13 pm

Mark your calendars! Next year's Tour de Cure is scheduled to take place on June 5, 2010.

The Southeast Michigan Tour de Cure begins at Brighton High School and offers great riding options for everyone:
o A family friendly 5-10 mile route through nearby neighborhoods
o Three mountain bike routes – 5, 9 & 14 miles
o The 25-mile fitness route on relatively flat roads for a moderate ride
o The 50-mile route for the weekend warriors
o The 75-mile route for those more experienced riders
o The 100-mile century with hills for a real challenge

All rides include stocked rest stops, on-course bike and medical support, and over 200 volunteers taking care of your day of event needs. An additional lunch stop will be provided on our 100-mile route. We offer great ride options for every skill level. Our finish line activities include a catered lunch, complimentary massages, live entertainment, vendors/exhibits, goodie bags, and a silent auction.

Registration is $15 until March 22, 2010 and $25 after March 22. A minimum goal of $150 in fundraising is required per rider, and all funds go to support diabetes research, education and advocacy. If you have diabetes be sure to register online as a RED RIDER and be recognized for your courage in living with diabetes every day. All riders will also receive a T-shirt and goodie bag the day of the ride. Ride for an excellent cause and help to STOP DIABETES in Michigan.

This is a great event with excellent courses and race support. Add in that you have some of the best organizers out there and you're looking at a top-notch event!

Is anyone interested in a Detroit Iron team? If nothing else we would be the best looking team out there... ;)
