Newton: I love thier running shoes and have worn them for over a year with great results ... and they look really cool - especially the pink racers! www.netwonrunning.com
Yes, I am also a big fan of Newton running shoes. I have to admit that when I first saw them I thought they were gimmicky. Then I tried them on... very comfortable. I ran around the block with them... since I was already a fore-foot runner it didn't take much to get used to them. But they felt great so I figured I would give them a try. I had a failed attempt with Zoot running shoes before buying Newton. They just didn't feel right on me. Newton on the other hand hugs my foot and leaves plenty of room in the toe box. They are super light yet supportive. I do not feel knee or ankle pain after long runs in these shoes. That is not the case with other brands. And this is one of their aims... to promote forefoot running, which leads to fewer aches and pains.
For pronators... Newton has a stability model that is slightly more built up in the arch. But even the neutral shoe is designed to accommodate a slight pronating runner (in my opinion).
Now that I wear my old pair as an everyday shoe I get lots of questions about Newton. If you have questions go to newtonrunning.com. You can read all about their philosophy and the reason the shoes look like they do (besides the awesome colors!).
Fraser cycle carries Newton so you can try them on if you don't want to order them sight-unseen.
The point is, if you are curious about them, check 'em out!
